Even though the Marionbarie plantations are located at the foothills of the Dooars region and officially classified as a Dooars / Terrai tea, this delicious spring black entails all characteristics of a classic first flush Dooars. The black-light green combination of leaves prepare a glowing cuppa combined with a stimulating aroma of floral grassy notes as fresh as in orchards. The tea is is fruity on the palate with a smooth profile. The vegetal notes accentuate as you roll it in your mouth for a few seconds to ultimately fade back to a slightly sweet lingering finish. A good tea at a great price.

Grade​T​ea leaf grading is the process of evaluating products based on the quality and condition of the tea leaves​. ​The highest grades are referred to as "orange pekoe"​ i.e SFTGFOP1, FTGFOP1​, and the lowest as "fannings" or "dust".

Marionbarie Tea Estate The Marionbarie tea estate, located in the north-terai region of Dooars, just at the foothills of Darjeeling district is among the most known plantations in this region. Established originally in 1901, this century old garden is located at an elevation of 900 feet above sea level. An interesting combination of wild animals, flora and fauna can be found around this plantation because of its proximity to the Mahananda Wild Life Sanctuary. Spread over an area of 300 hectares, Marionbarie produces some distinctive orthodox teas every season.
